This is how San Miguel Experiences its Traditional Carnival

Migueleños, nationals and foreigners have gathered at one of the biggest celebrations in the country, to enjoy music, gastronomy, games, and fun.

The main streets of the city of San Miguel have once again become the venue of the great Carnival, in the 64th edition, an event that starts with the allegorical parade of floats and will close at dawn with the music of national and international artists.

This traditional activity closes the city’s patron saint festivities, where local, national and foreign people enjoy music, gastronomy, mechanical games and many more surprises during the evening.

About 150 floats will parade from the Municipal Government Center at the intersection of ‘‘Tráfico’’ on Roosevelt Avenue South and José Simeón Cañas Avenue, ending at the street to the Rastro Municipal on 4ª Calle Poniente and 8ª North Avenue, according to the organizing Committee of Festivities.

The creativity of the sponsors and designers is present in each of the details of the floats and dresses, which put the touch of elegance in the queen of the festivities along with the young ladies representing the different neighborhoods and barrios.

A total of 88 musical groups will participate in the San Miguel Carnival with orchestras, bands, chanchonas and discomóviles, distributed in 6 locations; for this purpose, the streets were totally closed, leaving alternate routes accessible such as Calle Antigua to La Unión, Calle Antigua to Quelepa so that drivers could leave towards the Panamerican Highway and Ruta Militar.
