These are
cultural, recreational, and artistic activities, among others, taking place in
the squares and parks of the Historic Center of San Salvador.
Thanks to the safe
environment in El Salvador, hundreds of citizens participated in the
recreational, cultural, and family activities organized by the San Salvador
municipality in the so-called SivArt Christmas edition.
The development of
these activities had different focal points, such as Gerardo Barrios and
Morazán squares, as well as Libertad and Cuscatlán parks, and the new square in
front of El Calvario Church.
Both the National
Civil Police (PNC) and the Metropolitan Agents Corps (CAM) personnel ensured
the well-being of all visitors, including those who had come to explore the
facilities of the new National Library of El Salvador, where long lines of
citizens were waiting to enter.
"This is the
most beautiful time of the year; a few days ago, we had planned to come with
the family to see the new library and find out about the activities organized
by the municipality," said citizen Juan Campos.
The musical
festivities were led by various peace bands that gathered in front of the
National Palace, delighting families, as well as dance groups. There was
representation from different regions of the country. For children, there were
face paintings, classic games, sports spaces, and more.
Spaces for the
development of these activities were also set up at Bambú City, Presidente
Plaza, and Muna stations in the San Benito neighborhood, west of the capital,
with tourist tours for both national and foreign visitors.
In the evening,
families enjoyed the Christmas lights that adorned the squares and parks of the
capital; the organizers announced that there would be activities until midnight
on Saturday, as some restaurants and cafes have special hours for the Christmas
season.
The Ministries of Tourism and Culture also joined this effort. The activities will continue on Sunday, December 10th.
