Flowering Maquilishuats in San Salvador

The Maquilishuats in San Salvador are impressing in the center of the city. Their flowers in different shades of pink give a dreamy and wonderful look to the squares in the "heart" of the capital of El Salvador. March has arrived, and with it, the blooming Maquilishuats. During this time of the year, the national tree of El Salvador dresses in pink to decorate streets, sidewalks, and even public squares.

With their various shades of pink, several specimens in this season beautify some tourist points of interest in the "Land of Volcanoes," including the Plaza del Salvador del Mundo and the Historic Center of San Salvador. In this latter site, the Maquilishuats have once again taken center stage. Their beautiful appearance has not gone unnoticed by the hundreds of tourists who come to the heart of the capital. Many of the visitors have been captivated by the beauty of these trees that bloom during the dry and warm season. With their phones or cameras, they have captured the colorful scenes and have not hesitated to showcase them on social media.

Just take a look at Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to discover images that feature this attractive tree species. Several specimens, with more intense colors, are located in Plaza Morazán, and others are situated in Plaza Cívica Gerardo Barrios, near the metropolitan cathedral and in front of the National Library. Plaza Libertad also has some Maquilishuat trees that contribute a very eye-catching aspect to that busy space.
